As we reach the height of summer, it’s a great moment to pause and look forward to what’s still to come in the ASGBI calendar this year. We’re proud to continue delivering high-quality, relevant, and future-focused content for our members - and the months ahead promise just that.
Next up is our highly anticipated Precision in Colorectal Surgery webinar - a standout event that brings together leading experts to showcase cutting-edge techniques, evolving evidence, and best practices in colorectal surgery. Whether you're a trainee looking to deepen your knowledge or a consultant keen to stay ahead of the curve, this webinar on Friday 12th September promises insight, innovation, and inspiration.
On the 19th September we have our first ASGBI Regional Meeting, bringing “ASGBI Closer to Home” with the Southwest Robotic Surgery Symposium with a focus on “How we do it”. This promises to be an exciting and new event and a chance for us to connect with members locally.
Following this on 12th November, we’re heading to Birmingham for our Emergency General Surgery (EGS) Day, a dynamic meeting focused on the evolving landscape of emergency surgical care. It’s an exciting opportunity to share national perspectives, explore new pathways and hear from those shaping the future of EGS in the UK.
And we’re not stopping there. Shortly after, we’ll welcome Residents to the Moynihan Academy Trauma & Emergency Surgery Masterclass — a flagship event in their calendar bringing together the very best in surgical education, collaboration, and leadership. It continues to be a fantastic forum for discussion, development, and community within emergency general surgery.
As we look forward to these events, we also want to take a moment to wish all of our members and colleagues a restful and enjoyable summer break — wherever you're heading, whether it’s a quiet staycation or a well-earned holiday abroad.
We look forward to seeing many of you at our upcoming events and continuing to build momentum together as we shape the future of surgical care.
With warmest wishes,
Mr Christian Macutkiewicz
President, ASGBI
