Our Steering Group
SLIM is led by a diverse panel of senior clinicians and managers, including past ASGBI presidents, national clinical leads, divisional directors, and academic leaders - each bringing valuable real-world experience to support the network.
- Gillian Tierney - Chair of SLIM; Past President of ASGBI; Head of School of Surgery, East Midlands; Clinical Advisor to Health Education England; Honorary Chair at University of Nottingham.
- Katie Adams - Consultant Colorectal Surgeon; Clinical Lead for Gastrointestinal Surgery, Guy’s & St Thomas’ Hospital, London; Specialist in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) surgery.
- Mark Cheetham - Consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon, Shropshire; National Clinical Lead for General Surgery.
- Mike Goodwin - Divisional Director for Cancer, Diagnostics and Clinical Support, University Hospitals of Derby and Burton; Senior NHS leader with 14 years’ experience.
- Kate Hancorn - Consultant Colorectal and Trauma Surgeon, Royal London Hospital; Clinical Lead in local management role.
- James Kinross - Reader in Colorectal Surgery, Imperial College London; Consultant Surgeon; Head of Speciality, Imperial College NHS Trust.
- Anne Pullyblank - Consultant Colorectal Surgeon, North Bristol NHS Trust; Former Clinical Director for Surgery (2010–2015).
- Ralph Tomlinson - Director of Research and Quality Improvement, Royal College of Surgeons of England.
