When you join ASGBI or use our services, we may collect your name, job title, hospital or workplace, home address, telephone number, and email address. Payment information is collected when you pay by Direct Debit or card and processed through secure providers, including GoCardless, Opayo, and Stripe. Bank details are encrypted, and card details are not stored by ASGBI (except temporarily on secure payment platforms for refunds, where applicable).We also collect information when you register for conferences, events, or use our website.

‍How We Use Your Data

We use your personal information to administer your ASGBI membership and provide services, manage payments and financial transactions securely, inform you about ASGBI events, courses, services, and updates that may be relevant, and comply with legal obligations and prevent fraud.  We do not sell or rent your personal data. Your information may be shared with contractors or agents who help us provide services you have requested, and only in accordance with GDPR.

Under the UK GDPR, you have the right to access your personal data, correct inaccurate or incomplete data, request deletion of your data (“right to be forgotten”) in certain circumstances, restrict how your data is processed, obtain and reuse your data for other services (data portability), object to specific types of processing such as marketing communications, and lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) if you believe your data has been mishandled.
