Celebrating excellence in surgery, education, and innovation, the ASGBI is dedicated to supporting surgeons at all stages of their careers. Through fellowships, prizes, and opportunities for international collaboration, we aim to advance surgical knowledge, foster professional development, and recognise outstanding contributions to patient care and research.
Our most prestigious award, offering up to £10,000 to support international surgical education and ambassadorial opportunities for UK and Ireland-based surgeons.
Supporting non-consultant surgeons to visit centres of excellence in emergency general surgery worldwide, fostering professional growth and leadership skills. Award up to £2,500.
A range of prizes recognising excellence in research, innovation, education, and clinical practice, including:
- Moynihan Prize – Best oral presentation
- BJS Prize – Best manuscript
- Video Prize – Educational surgical videos
- NELA Prize – Emergency surgery & perioperative care
