Moynihan Academy

The Moynihan Academy (MA) is an official branch of the Association of Surgeons of Great Britain & Ireland (ASGBI). It is a collaboration of Medical Students, Foundation Years, Core Surgical Residents, Specialist Residents, Post CCT Fellows, SAS Surgeons and Locally Employed Doctors.

Our main vision is to foster an atmosphere of collaborative learning, training, research and networking for doctors and allied healthcare professionals interested in General Surgery and Trauma. We aim to continually improve surgical training as well as promote inclusivity, fairness, equal opportunity, and excellence to help future surgeons meet their personal and professional goals.

The MA is for all aspiring and established Surgeons, unified in the pursuit of excellence in General Surgery, Emergency General Surgery and Trauma Surgery.

Membership

All non-consultant members of the ASGBI will automatically be members of the MA and will be able to take full advantage of its many facets. We encourage medical students, residents at all levels, SAS Surgeons and post CCT fellows to engage with the Academy and use its national and international networks as well as its webinars, podcasts, lectures, workshops, courses and national audit/research projects to aid in their learning and career progression.
