General Surgery Registrar – North West
Rute is a General Surgery Registrar in the North West Deanery and this is her second year as part of the Moynihan Academy. She was the previous Wellbeing Lead and addressed topics like conflict resolution and infertility in surgery, which created great discussion amongst the community. Her other past roles include MEDALL Equality and Diversity Lead and BMA Local Negotiating Committee Representative. In these positions, she championed diversity, fostered inclusive environments, and advocated for better working conditions, driving positive change within the medical community. As the Secretary, Rute is eager to continue fostering a culture of collaboration within the MA community and contribute to the collective betterment of the surgical community.
