Miss Marianne Hollyman is a Consultant Upper Gastrointestinal and Bariatric Surgeon at Musgrove Park Hospital, part of Somerset NHS Foundation Trust, and a Consultant Investigator at the Exeter Biomedical Research Centre.
Her research portfolio includes national cohort studies and randomised controlled trials in emergency general surgery, with contributions to key studies such as PANC (pancreatitis), CholeS (gallbladder surgery), and NASBO (small bowel obstruction). She has also played a role in trials including FLOELA (fluid optimisation in laparotomy), CAMELOT (pain control using rectus sheath catheters), and emerging studies such as ROSIER (Requirement for Surgical Intervention After ERCP) and PANORAMA (optimising post-discharge care pathways after acute pancreatitis).
Prior to her appointment as Director of Research, Miss Hollyman served as the South West Regional Representative for ASGBI, championing surgical excellence across the region.
