Amir Chauhan

Medical Student Lead

Amir is a fifth year medical student intercalating in Tissue Engineering for Regenerative Medicine. He serves as vice president of Scalpel, the University of Manchester’s surgical society. He founded a workshop series for medical students to help enhance their practical skills and exposure to surgery which included a general surgery day replicating surgical skills such as stoma formation and bowel anastomosis in a classroom environment. With this role Amir hopes to encourage and help other undergraduate surgical societies across the country to run similar days alongside support from the Moynihan.
