ASGBI (Association of Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland) Terms and conditions:
You are responsible for informing the ASGBI of changes to your personal details. If you are provided with individual passwords for access to our on-line services these must not be shared with anyone else.
All members agree that postal addresses, email addresses, telephone numbers and other personal details provided to the ASGBI may be used for administrative purposes and to fulfil your ASGBI membership. As part of your membership the ASGBI may also send you, information about our work where we feel this would be of interest to you. We may contact you by post, telephone and/or email where you have provided these to us.
You can of course opt-out of communications from us at any time, save that we are legally required to communicate with members who hold Company Law rights and obligations on certain matters governed by Company Law for as long as you remain such a member of the ASGBI.
When you click to submit your application on line, or telephone or e-mail us with details of your application, you are making an offer to subscribe to the ASGBI, which, if accepted by us, will result in a legally binding contract.
At the point of renewal of your membership, your renewal payment is confirmation of the continued acceptance of this contract. You may not transfer any of your rights and obligations under these terms and conditions to another person.
For on line applications you will either have sight of a confirmation page or receive an email. If you have supplied your email address, acknowledgement that your application has been received and is being processed does not yet mean that the contract between us is formed. A legally binding contract is formed on the date we send your welcome pack. This will be sent out when all of your documents have been received and assessed, and membership grade is confirmed.
Credit Card Payments:
If you are not using your own credit/debit card to pay for the membership subscription, you must ask the permission of the credit/debit card holder before entering the payment details.
When you offer to subscribe to ASGBI either on-line, by post or verbally, you are confirming that you have obtained the express prior permission of the credit/debit card holder.
Direct Debit Payments:
Payment by direct debit is the simplest and the most convenient way to pay your ASGBI subscription
Direct Debit Guarantee
The Direct Debit Guarantee applies to all Direct Debits. It protects you in the rare event that there is an error in the payment of your Direct Debit. Here is the Direct Debit Guarantee in full.
Annual Membership Price Increases
If a member has not paid their subscriptions by the end of February of that current year, then the membership rate will increase to the figures previously agreed at the Annual General Meeting. (Displayed on the membership page)
Notice of Agreement
Any participation in this service will constitute acceptance of this agreement.
By accessing and using this service, you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provision of this agreement. In addition, when using these particular services, you shall be subject to any posted guidelines or rules applicable to such services. Any participation in this service will constitute acceptance of this agreement. If you do not agree to abide by the above, please do not use this service.
Notification of Changes
We may terminate your access to the Site, without cause or notice, which may result in the forfeiture and destruction of all information associated with your account. All provisions of this Agreement that, by their nature, should survive termination shall survive termination, including, without limitation, ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnity, and limitations of liability.
Your ASGBI Membership is a rolling annual agreement that will automatically renew upon the anniversary of your application. You will receive a renewal notice in advance of the anniversary of your application date, informing you of your entitlement to cancel and of any changes to your Direct Debit payment. Any payment arrangements that have been made by Direct Debit will automatically continue, unless you notify your bank/building society that you wish to cancel it.
If you wish to cancel your ASGBI membership, you must inform us of your intention to cancel a minimum of ten working days prior to the anniversary of your application. This notice should be provided directly to us, in writing by letter or email. We can confirm that cancellations over the phone will not be accepted.
If a member fails to pay their annual subscription within four months of the renewal date, they will be lapsed.
No refunds will be provided unless the notice requirements are complied with.
Once renewal of your membership has occurred, it will still be possible to cancel your membership. However, we will offer a refund for any fees taken in the first two months (January and February) of the year subject to a 10% admin fee deduction. Following these months, no refund will be made.
All site material is owned ASGBI and should not be used without prior permission.
