I was appointed as consultant endocrine & breast surgeon to the Royal Victoria Infirmary, Newcastle in 2001 after 18 month as a consultant general surgeon at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Gateshead.
I was elected as regional representative for the old Northern region in 2007 for 4 years. I now represent the area covered by the North East SHA and sit on council to ensure the ASGBI is aware of the problems in the North East.

The main surgical society in the North east is the North of England Surgical Society, which welcomes members from all branches of surgery and meets every 2 months or so. The programme will be available on the ASGBI website.
