All Congress delegates are invited to attend a drinks reception in the Industry Exhibition once the day’s sessions end at 5:30pm, during which the Congress will be formally opened by Lord Ribeiro, Past President of ASGBI and Past President of The Royal College of Surgeons of England.
ASSOCIATION OF LAPAROSCOPIC SURGEONS ANNUAL DINNER –

The ALS Annual Dinner will be held at Matou, 2nd floor, Mersey Ferry Terminal, Georges Parade, Pier Head, Liverpool L3 1BY, at 7:00pm.
Cost: £50 per person.

29th ANNUAL GOLF COMPETITION FOR ST ANDREWS’ QUAICH
THURSDAY 10TH MAY 2012
The Association’s 2012 Golf Competition will be held at The Royal Liverpool Golf Club on the afternoon of Thursday 10th May 2012. Two prize trophies will be awarded; the President’s Putter for the best scratch round and the St Andrews Quaich as the main handicap prize. There will be drinks at the end of the afternoon, when the prizes will be awarded.
The cost is £50 per person(normally £140.00) to include soup, sandwiches and eighteen holes of golf. 40 tee times are available and will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

ASGBI CONGRESS SOCIAL EVENING
THURSDAY 10th MAY 2012
In response to overwhelming delegate feedback, the Association has dispensed with the formal, black tie, Annual Gala Dinner. Instead, there will be a more relaxed “Curry Evening” held on-site, within the Congress venue at the BT Convention Centre in Liverpool. A Reception, Poster Viewing and Industry Exhibition will be followed by a brief Prize Giving, after which delegates will retire to an informal meal, including drinks, with some light entertainment.
Tables can be booked upon request, so that teams can enjoy the evening together, and there will be a pay-bar for those who wish to supplement the two drinks included in the cost. This change of format has allowed the charge to be a very reasonable £25 per head for the event, rather than the previous £75 cost of the annual dinner.
Cost: £25 per person, including a curry supper and two drinks.
Dress Code: Smart casual.
