The Association of Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland (ASGBI)’s 2012 International Surgical Congress 2012 is entitled ‘Expertise & Excellence’. The Congress will take place in Liverpool from Wednesday 9th to Friday 11th May 2012 and will be held at the BT Convention Centre (or ACC).
Over the years the ASGBI International Surgical Congress has established itself as the premier European surgical event in the conference calendar. Over 1,600 delegates attended the 2011 Congress.
The 2012 Congress will look at improving surgical technique and how to achieve best practise. Many of the current political issues which are influencing all of our working lives will be debated and discussed. In addition we will bring you the most recent innovations in surgical techniques and instrumentation.
There will be major scientific sessions and a plenary Moynihan Prize short paper session, in addition to invited lectures from a range of some of the most influential surgeons in the UK and abroad. Symposia will cover topics such as ‘Pushing the Boundaries of Surgical Technique’, ‘Burnout and the Stress of Surgery’, ‘Surgery in the Elderly’, and ‘Blunt Abdominal Trauma and the general surgeon’. There will also be ample opportunity for informed debate and discussion.
