Cleo Kenington is a Consultant in Emergency General Surgery and Major Trauma at St. George’s Hospital, London.  She was appointed in February 2019 after completing her higher surgical training in the Wessex region, followed by fellowships in Major Trauma Surgery in Cape Town, South Africa and King’s College Hospital, London. She was also involved in developing Ambulatory Emergency Surgical services at St Thomas’ hospital and then the Whittington hospitals in London.

 

Her main interests in clinical practice include emergency laparotomy and laparoscopy, Laparoscopic Gall bladder surgery including as an emergency and hernia surgery open and laparoscopic. Her specialist interests are emergency general surgery, Emergency Surgical Ambulatory Care and visceral major trauma surgery. She is a founder member of the National Forum of Acute Surgery and is interested in developing the role of the physician assistant within the general surgery team.

She completed a Master’s degree in surgical technology from Imperial College London with a distinction for her thesis on surgical simulation.
