The following questionnaire on the role of peritoneal fluid/pus swab in the cases of appendicectomy has been compiled by Mr Jayesh Sagar. We would be grateful if you could take a few minutes to complete this questionnaire online and contribute to this study.
 

  1. How long you have been in a Consultant Position? *
  2. How do you classify your main surgical interest? *
  3. On an average, how many appendicectomy does your firm/team perform annually? *
  4. Do you routinely take peritoneal fluid/pus for microscopy, culture and sensitivity in all the cases of appendicectomy? *
  5. If no, what are your indications for taking peritoneal or pus culture in the cases of appendicectomy? *
  6. Do you change the antibiotics according to culture results in postoperative period? *
  7. Do you know the hospital laboratory costs for microscopy and culture and sensitivity tests for peritoneal fluid/pus? *
  8. Would any guidelines about peritoneal/pus swab based on clinical evidence be of any value in your practice? *
