Survey of Practice for surgeons and anaesthetists who care for children

18 June 2010

The National Confidential Enquiring into Patient Outcome and Death (NCEPOD) is undertaking a study into surgery in children which includes peer review of deaths following surgery and anaesthesia and a review of hospital infrastructure (http://www.ncepod.org.uk/ps.htm). An important aim of the study is contribute to the debate on the best organisational model for delivering paediatric surgical care in the UK. To determine this, the views and opinions of consultant surgeons and anaesthetists are crucial.

Consequently we would be most grateful if you could complete a short on-line survey about your paediatric clinical practice. This should take no longer than 10 minutes and is anonymous. Please follow the link below to the survey:

Even if you do not care for children please go to the survey and answer “no” to the first question

The closing date for the survey is August 2010. NCEPOD will provide feedback on the findings of the survey when it is completed.

NCEPOD is most grateful to the Association of Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland and Association of Anaesthetists of Great Britain and Ireland for their support in conducting this survey.

Many thanks for your help in this important work.
