Welcome to the Association of Surgeons in Primary Care

This new association has been established in 2006 by a group of enthusiastic General Practitioners who have provided surgical services in Primary Care for a number of years. Membership is open to all practitioners (GP's/ consultants/ nurses and allied health professionals) who have an interest in developing such services.

The Association of Surgeons in Primary Care is affiliated with the Assocation of Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland and the Royal College of General Practitioners.

The objectives of the Association of Surgeons in Primary Care (ASPC) are to:

  • Promote the provision of appropriate surgical services in primary care settings to the highest standards.
  • To further education and training needs of practitioners working in this area.
  • To work with other professional organisations to develop guidelines for accreditation and appraisal.
  • To act as a lobby group for its members.
  • To be a forum for the exchange of views, information and resources.
