Mr Allan Wells
I am a colorectal surgeon based at Peterborough City Hospital where I have been a consultant for 20 years. I was elected as the ASGBI regional representative for the East of England in 2009 for a four year term. I will demit Office in 2013.
My role is to act as your representative and provide a link to the Council of the ASGBI and be a conduit between you and the Council of the ASGBI.
Great changes are occurring in the delivery of surgical services and it is important that we as surgeons play an active part in influencing these changes to ensure the delivery of the best possible care to the population.
We have a vital role to play in the training of the next generation of surgeons and we must ensure that this is achieved particularly in view of the difficulties caused by the introduction of the EWTD.
I am particularly keen to represent your views and concerns to the Council of the ASGBI.
