The Annual Meeting in Edinburgh will coincide with the Quincentenary celebrations of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh which runs from 1st July 2005 to 13th October 2006.

This fifteen month period mirrors the original dates when the College received its Seal of Cause as an incorporation of Barber Surgeons from the Edinburgh Town Council (1st July 1505) and when the College was granted Royal Assent by King James IV of Scotland (13th October 1506).
